Sad to be voted off :( - probably a good thing as was getting a bit too addictive and I wasn't getting much work done! Viva preparation here we come!!
Favourite Thing: Thinking through something that won’t work and managing to sort it out – it’s like doing a puzzle. I also like presenting my work to other scientists at conferences around the world as I get to travel to lots of different places and meet new people.
I went to Hillcrest School in Birmingham and then to King Edward VI Five Ways for sixth form (1999-2001). I went to University of Wolverhampton (2004-2007) and did a Masters and a PhD at University College London
8 GCSEs, 5 A-levels, BSc(Hons) Human Biology & Health Studies, MSc Health and Society: Social Epidemiology, PhD Epidemiology (soon!)
I have had lots of random little jobs like working in a bakery, promoting recycling for my local council, working in a care home, working on the 2011 Census but now I work at University College London
Research Associate at University College London – I now research how people juggle work and family responsibilities and how it affects health
University College London
Me and my work
I am Social Epidemiologist. I look at why some children who experience parental divorce report psychological distress as an adult and how this has changed over the last 50 years
My Typical Day
I spend most of my time working on my computer using statistical computer packages analysing data whilst drinking tea
I also attend meetings with my colleagues to discuss research and seminars where people present their work via a presentation
What I'd do with the money
I would organise a schools event on families and how they affect health
