They were an incredibly advanced civilization and left lots of things behind that remind us why:
– Straight roads: the Romans built lots of very straight roads, to speed up getting from A to B. They even added drainage – very new back then!
– Buildings: apart from all the great architecture they left us, they also introduced cement, bricks and glass to us!
– Irrigation: they liked to have a running water supply for cleanliness and hygiene, so they designed aqueducts and drainage systems that we still use today!
– Our calendar: the 365 days, names of the months and the fact that we have leap years!
– Food: they brought us some of the stuff I love, like apples, pears, and grapes.
and the weirdest one: RABBITS! But I’ll let you search for why yourself…
It might be nice to visit some other times, but I wouldn’t want to live any other time than the present. Science and technology advances so fast that even going back a few years would seem very strange now we’re used to high speed internet and mobile phones!
I would go back 2.5 million years to the pleistocene era so that I could see all the mega-fauna. In case you don’t know, mega-fauna are giant animals that used to roam the earth like wolly mammoths, giant sloths and bird like an emu that weighed half a tonne. Though like John says, I would only like to visit, as I think I would quickly miss things like food, medicine and beds.
Backwards? Why not forwards.
take a sneaky peak at the technology of tomorrow.
bring the information back.
and become the next Bill gates or Mark Zuckerberg
or go backwards and become the actual Mark Zuckerberg
Time Machines.. dangerous thingsā¦..
What would i use it for.
