• Question: why do rabbits have eyes on the side of their head not the front??:P

      It’s all about where they are in the food chain!

      Prey tend to have eyes on the side of their heads so that they have an all around view to look out for predators. Predators tend to have their eyes on the front so that they have better depth perception and are better at catching prey.

      Rabbits are naturally prey!

      They have eyes on the side of their head in order to protect them from predators – they can see wider round themselves and keep an eye out on what is going on

      Eyes on the front = predators: so they look forward and are better suited to catching prey with really good 3D vision!

      Eyes on the side = prey: so they can look in more directions to keep themselves safe!

      I bet your teachers have told you they have eyes on the back of their head… what would you call that if it was true?!
