      Yes you can reduce the chances that someone who has experienced parental divorce will be psychologically distressed. One thing that I found was the most important for doing this was in trying to support children through school, to do well in their exams. Children who do well in their exams are then able to get better jobs and houses, which makes their mental health better.

      Don’t underestimate the power of education!

      Also working on the relationship between the child and their mum and dad is important too. I found that children who still got on well with their parents had better psychological health as adults.
