Wow! Big question!! The meaning of Science (at least as I see it) is all about gaining knowledge and being able to test how things work, why things exist etc.

Trying to work out how the universe around you works (including every day things)
but using a simple set of rules to help guide you as you do it.

      THAT’s It !! 🙂

Trying to understand why and how things happen around us.. and inside us! From the huge universe down to the tiny Boson Higgs particle. By testing, experienting, proving, disproving, succeeding and failing!

I think about Science as the reverse of Engineering. Looking at stuff and taking it apart (practically or theoretically) to find out how it works. Whereas with Engineering you are putting stuff together to make something useful.

That’s why they rely on one another so much, you can’t build stuff without understanding how the components of it work, but you can’t understand how they work without having the tools to take them apart!
