The feet on the end of my legs I find very useful for balancing. I also use them to pedal my bike.
Feet as a unit of measurement are part of an old system of of “Imperial” units, along with yards, stone, inches and a whole load of others. Scientists and Engineers tend not to use feet as a measurement unit as they are difficult to work with. There are:
12 inches in a foot
3 feet in a yard
1760 yards in a mile
We tend to use the SI unit system which work with multiples of 10, 100 or 1000. This makes the maths a lot easier:
10millimetres in a centimetre
100centimetres in a metre
1000metres in a kilometre
Some people still prefer to work in old units, try asking your parents or teachers how tall they are and see if they tell you in feet or metres?
Hi I personally don’t like my own feet but feet are massively important for us to be able to stand up, walk and balance. Without them we would be pretty stuck!
