I find biology and chemistry really interesting, but I don’t understand them as well as I understand physics. Physics is really the foundation at the root of most things. Unless you count maths, which is maybe the foundation of physics. Maths is really hard though – so I’m going to say physics!
My favourite is Biology – I studied Biology at GCSE, A-level and at university.
Although a lot of what I do now is more about social science I look at how social factors affect health and specifically how our experiences of life “get under our skin” by resulting in changes in our body (in our Biology) which make us sick. I think it is really interesting to know how our bodies work and how they are affected by our lives and our experiences
My area of science is computational bio-physical chemistry, so I study all three and computing. But physics was always my favourite at school. I didn’t like chemistry very much because it seemed like a lot of boring unrelated facts.
I loved physics at school – but mostly because I was good at maths (my mum is amazing at maths so I had a good teacher at home!) and had an awesome physics teacher at school.
Now I deal with the biology and chemistry of the oceans – wish I’d taken those two subjects at A-level now!
