      I reckon he dumps out the gold in order to save the bus and the passengers. Or perhaps he dumps the passengers in order to save the gold…

      Haha brilliant question – I bet everyone who has watched that film wondered that!

      Being the mastermind that he is, I reckon he had figured out a great way to save the people AND the gold! It’s have to be long and complicated though, it’s the Michael Caine way 🙂

      I don’t think we’ll ever get to know what his great idea was.

      A competition was run by the Royal Society of Chemistry to find a good solution though. You can read about the winning entry here:

      It involves smashing windows, letting out fuel and piling rocks in the front of the coach!
